I was a painting major at Texas Tech University for a few semesters before I switched to Jewelry. Media types include oils, acrylics and watercolor on a variety of surfaces.

I prefer oils to acrylics because of their workability and general feel on the brush, but I always feel like I?m slowly poisoning myself to an oily death when I use them.

I often use acrylics on wood with an extender of some sort. I start with a detailed charcoal drawing and then use 10 - 15 layers of transparent paint to build up depth.
